Privacy Notice
How Nazui Institute (Pty) Ltd collects, uses and protects personal information, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
Who is responsible for your information
Nazui Institute (Pty) Ltd (Registration No. 2026/449990/07) is the responsible party for the personal information collected through this website. This notice explains what we collect, why, and the choices and rights you have.
What information we collect
When you contact us through this website, we collect:
- your name and email address, so we can respond to you;
- your organisation name, where you choose to provide it;
- the type of enquiry you select, so it reaches the right people;
- the content of your message.
Our website hosting provider also processes standard technical information (such as server logs containing IP addresses and browser details) to operate and secure the website.
Which fields are required
On the enquiry form, your name, email address, enquiry type and message are required — without them we cannot respond. Your organisation name is optional. You are never required to provide information that is not needed to handle your enquiry.
Why we collect it and how it is used
Personal information submitted through this website is used to:
- respond to your enquiry and route it to the appropriate mailbox;
- manage any follow-up conversation you choose to continue;
- protect the website against abuse and spam.
We do not use website enquiry details for marketing, and this website does not offer newsletter or marketing subscriptions. If direct marketing is ever introduced, it will be handled separately with its own lawful basis and opt-in.
Nazui Institute does not rely exclusively on consent to process personal information. Depending on the context, processing may be necessary to respond to your request, to take steps toward an engagement you have asked about, to comply with legal obligations, or to pursue our legitimate interest in operating a secure and useful website — always balanced against your rights.
Who receives your information
Your information is received by the relevant mailbox within Nazui Institute (general, research or collaboration, depending on your enquiry type). Categories of recipients that may process information on our behalf include:
- our website hosting provider, which stores and serves this website;
- our email service provider, which delivers enquiry messages;
- professional advisers or authorities, only where legally required.
We do not sell personal information.
International transfers
Service providers such as website and email hosting may process information using infrastructure located outside South Africa. Where personal information is transferred across borders, we take steps to ensure it remains protected substantially in line with POPIA.
How long we keep it
Enquiry correspondence is kept only for as long as needed to respond to and manage your enquiry, and for a reasonable period afterwards for record-keeping and any legal requirements. When information is no longer needed, it is deleted or de-identified.
How we protect it
We apply appropriate technical and organisational safeguards, including access controls, secure transmission, anti-spam and anti-abuse measures on our forms, and limiting access to those who need it to respond to you.
Cookies and analytics
This website does not currently use analytics, tracking cookies or similar technologies. If this changes, this notice will be updated before they are introduced.
Website enquiries, engagements and research participation
A website enquiry is not a commercial engagement or research participation. If you enter into an advisory or commercial engagement with us, separate terms will govern that relationship. If you participate in formal research, you will receive specific information about how your information will be used, under our research ethics principles, before you decide whether to take part.
Your rights
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to or raise concerns about how it is processed. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@nazuiinstitute.com.
Our PAIA Manual, prepared in terms of section 51 of the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000, explains how to request access to records we hold, the prescribed fees, and the grounds on which access may be granted or refused.
